Poitiers is located on several main road links and has a TGV train station making it an easily accessible city. The town itself provides a huge variety of ways to get around.
The Vitalis network runs throughout the city and surrounding suburbs. The network has a large choice of routes that free you up from needing a car. 800 bus stops, plenty of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities make Poiters easy to explore. Six monthly or annual youth passes (Pass Jeune) are available from 153, 20 €.
The CAP Bike service of Grand Poitiers has 250 standard bikes for hire as well as 613 electrically assisted bikes. These are available for daily, weekly or monthly hire. You will be able to find the bike of your dreams at a special student price – 9€ per month.

From Poitiers, TER Poitou-Charentes trains and coaches run throughout the region at minimum cost. TER links to Châteauroux, Angoulême, Limoges, Nantes (via Parthenay and Bressuire), La Rochelle (via Niort) and other large towns of the Poitou-Charentes or Grand Ouest region. Also the TGV Atlantique means that Paris is only 1 h 30 from Poitiers TGV train station in the city centre.
