Professor and doctor in management science, director of the CEREGE laboratory between 2017 and 2022, and now director of the Institute, Benjamin Dreveton’s research lies at the intersection of two disciplinary fields: management control and the management of public organizations. These studies also provide an opportunity for epistemological and methodological reflection on the social responsibility of management science researchers. This research has led to publications in national and international journals. Benjamin Dreveton is a member of the Association Francophone de Comptabilité, the Association Internationale de Recherche en Management Public, the European Accounting Association and the International Research Society for Public Management.
Benjamin Dreveton’s research focuses on the role of management control tools within organizations. His research is structured around two main themes: the study of the construction process of management control tools within public organizations. On this first axis, research-interventions have been carried out in collaboration with: agencies (ADEME), local authorities (regional councils, town halls) and universities Analysis of the process of adapting management control tools to the theme of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In this second area, work was carried out with: a community of agglomerations, Afnor and the French Ministry of Defense. From a methodological and epistemological standpoint, these various experiments are also an opportunity to initiate reflection on the responsibility and ethics of management science researchers.
